もう一年以上前になりますが、インドで忘れられない光景があります。それがこのスケッチの河、ガンジス川岸の光景です。

　朝日が登る頃、この河に、ろうそくと菊の花びらを人々は浮かべます。元々は宗教的な儀式でしょうが、今は観光客がこぞってこの事をします。日本笠に言えば精霊流しを毎日やっているようなものです。とても幻想的に見える朝もやの中のボートは、全て観光客です。

しかし、なぜか観光客ばかりのボートが作り出す風景はこの川の魅力を損なう物ではありませんでした。中国,桂林の雄大な流れで見た大きな引き船による川下りの光景とは全く違う神聖な感じを受けるものでした。このような空間を感じられたのは、この河が宗教的な場所としての強さを持っている証であると思いました。大きな場所であっても、小さな人々の強い心の集積が、感動できる風景を作る事を実感した貴重な旅でした。

In the sense of space, I have proof of the strength of the river as a religious place. Even a big place, and the accumulation of small people's heart, I realized was a valuable trip that you can create a touching scene.
